Alaska Salmon Migration: The Riffle

The salmon migration is an arduous journey along hazardous waters. The few salmon that survive the upstream voyage are rewarded with the opportunity to spawn in the same inland waters in which they themselves hatched years ago. For the salmon in this particular river in Southeast Alaska, the riffle captured in this recording is the final obstacle before reaching a large, calm mountain lake. Salmon can be heard splashing through the riffle, and woodland birds come and go. A calm, soothing track for relaxation, meditation, or sleep.
